The name of the market in the second half of the nineteenth century was Hunyadi. The space of the market was bigger, a part of it, the northern market is today called Avram Iancu, and the southern Cipariu Market.

Stefan cel Mare Square from Cluj Napoca, is situated in the continuation of Avram Iancu Square and starts from the building of the Romanian National Theatre and Opera House, continues with Opera Park up to the Cluj County School Inspectorate building.
